Stone worktops for Windsor homes
There are a lot of period houses in Windsor. You've got Georgian and Victorian townhouses close to the centre, then bigger family homes out towards Old Windsor and Ascot. Kitchens in houses like these often want something a bit special:
- A marble or Calacatta-look quartz island as the centrepiece of a larger kitchen.
- 30mm worktops with a classic edge for traditional and Shaker-style kitchens.
- A full-height splashback behind the hob, cut from the same slab as the worktops.
Marble and marble-look quartz
Natural marble has a classic finish, and over time it picks up a soft patina. It does need sealing and a bit of care, which is why a lot of people keep it to the island or a baking area. Love the look but want something easier to live with? Marble-look quartz has realistic veining and never needs sealing. We can show you both side by side.
Stone beyond the kitchen
In a period home, stone often works in more than one room. We make marble fireplace surrounds and hearths too, as well as bathroom vanity tops, bath surrounds, shower niches and window sills. If the pieces come from the same slab, the colour and veining will match.
Planning tips for period kitchens
Walls in older houses are hardly ever straight. That's why we template every kitchen on site after the units go in, then scribe the stone to the walls so it sits neatly. Planning a statement island? Think about a mitred edge or a waterfall end. Both look solid and high-end, and the stone stays a manageable weight.
Quartz worktops in Windsor
Plenty of people choose quartz worktops in Windsor because it looks so much like marble. Carrara or Calacatta-look quartz makes a period kitchen feel bright and classic, and you don't have to seal it. The pattern also stays the same across the worktops, island and splashback.
Granite and marble worktops in Windsor
Granite worktops in Windsor sit well in a traditional kitchen with a range cooker. Marble is a good match for statement islands, and for bathrooms in Georgian and Victorian houses.

Windsor FAQs
Do you work with interior designers?+
Yes, regularly. We work with designers, builders and kitchen fitters, and we're happy to work from their drawings.
Can you make a matching fireplace hearth?+
We can. The hearth or surround can be in the same stone as your kitchen, or in one that goes with it.
Can I see the slab before it's cut?+
With natural stone, we'll show you the slab or photos of it before we cut, wherever we can.
Should I choose marble or quartz worktops for my Windsor kitchen?+
If you love natural stone and don't mind it ageing, go for marble. If you'd like the look with less upkeep, marble-look quartz is the better fit.
